Title
Facade measurement with laser scanning - Precise surveying for renovation & planning

Wysiwyg text

Accurate facade measurements are crucial for renovation projects, energy-efficient modernization or the digital documentation of buildings. With laser scanning technology, façades can be captured with millimeter precision – quickly, without contact and in great detail.

This method is ideal for recording complex façade structures, listed buildings or large-scale objects. The captured 3D data can be used directly for CAD and BIM models to make planning processes more efficient and optimize costs.

Laser scanning as a modern solution for facade surveying

Second column

Traditional methods for measuring facades, such as manual measurements or total stations, are time-consuming and prone to errors. This process can be significantly optimized with 3D laser scanning. The technology enables fast, non-contact and highly precise recording of façades – regardless of their complexity or size.

How does the process work?

A laser scanner emits thousands of laser pulses per second and measures the reflections to create a detailed point cloud of the façade. This point cloud depicts the exact geometry of the building and can be used for further planning processes. Thanks to high-resolution scans, even the smallest details, such as decorative elements or unevenness, are reliably captured.

Title
What are the advantages of laser scanning?

Second column

Laser scanning offers numerous advantages over conventional facade surveying. 3D laser scanning can significantly reduce surveying costs. In addition to the enormous time savings, digital capture ensures exceptional measurement accuracy in the millimeter range.

The process also enables complete documentation of the façade in 3D, eliminating the need for subsequent remeasurements. Thanks to its accuracy and completeness, the 3D measurement enables a unique and fast evaluation of the data. Data analysis is automated and can be imported quickly and easily into existing CAD systems.

Non-contact surveying is a major advantage, especially for listed buildings or buildings that are difficult to access, as façade structures do not have to be damaged or altered.

Title
Difficulties with facade measurements

First column

It is often a challenge to fully capture a complex façade with a 3D laser scanner. Dormers, façade projections and roof areas are particularly difficult to capture. There is often not enough space to position the scanner at different locations and heights.

The solution: a tripod that extends out of the window!

Together with a renowned tripod manufacturer, we have developed a high-quality façade tripod that masters the high demands of everyday scanning perfectly. With the tripod, a scanner can be positioned up to 260cm away from the external façade through the open window using a horizontal arm. This makes it possible to capture facades and roofscapes quickly and safely. A special feature here is that the scanner can be mounted both upright and upside down on the tripod.

Second column

With 3D laser scanning, facades can be measured or surveyed at unrivaled speed. As this is a non-contact measuring method, the time on site is reduced to a minimum. No other method provides such a detailed and geometrically correct facade measurement. With the right equipment and a little experience, extraordinary results can be achieved in a very short time. Software solutions enable fast and cost-saving evaluation of the captured data. The results can be further processed in existing CAD systems.
