Play it safe

The combination of different measuring methods makes the hand-held scanner extremely versatile. The restrictions caused by materials and surfaces that are difficult to scan are minimized. Thanks to the EinScan HX scanner, you only need one device for measuring tasks that previously required at least two.

Stripe light scanning allows you to quickly capture suitable surfaces and geometries. However, if this reaches its limits with glossy or black surfaces, laser scanning can be used for accurate and complete 3D results.

The 3D scanner for industry

The EinScan HX is one of the most precise and high-resolution handheld scanners on the market. With its specifications, the HX meets most industrial requirements for reverse engineering and metrology. The highest resolution level offers point distances of 0.05mm with accuracies of up to 0.04mm.

The collection speed in rapid scan mode is 1,200,000 points per second. The speed for high-precision laser scanning is 480,000 points per second.

Simple scanning with reliable results

The EinScan HX captures the shape and color of the measurement objects in real time. You simply point the scanner at the object to be measured and all relevant areas are captured.

The scanner's field of view is displayed in the associated software, making it very easy to follow the measurement.

A repetition rate of 20 images per second (Rapid Scan) makes the recording very dynamic. You move the scanner around the object like a video camera to capture it from all directions. There are various ways of linking individual images for the geometry information:

  • Object geometry
  • Marker points (measurement markers)
  • Texture
  • Hybrid alignment (object geometry and marker points)

Preparing the scanner

The EinScan HX can be set up, connected and ready to measure in just a few minutes. The supplied calibration plate can be used before each measurement to ensure that the results meet the highest level of accuracy. Calibration is automated and can be carried out within a maximum of 5 minutes.

Preparing the measurement object

Before you can start the measurement, make the project settings. When measuring in rapid scan mode, the measurement markers are not necessarily required. Alignment can also be carried out using object geometries or texture. A combination of geometry and measurement markers is also possible.

The laser scan can only be aligned with the measurement markers. The scanner always requires at least three known measurement markers in the field of view in order to be able to align the recorded geometry. If the markers are placed directly on the measurement object, you can also move the object during the measurement. As soon as you place the measurement markers on a base, for example, the position of the measurement object should no longer change.

Scanning the object

During recording, the software displays in real time which areas have already been recorded. The measurement can be paused at any time and continued at known connection points. Once you are satisfied with your results, the project can be finalized with just a few clicks.

Data export

You can then export the point cloud or create a high-quality mesh from the recorded measurement data.

Point clouds can currently be exported from the EinScan HX software as a list of coordinates. However, the meshing generated from this offers further export options. Common formats such as .OBJ, .STL, .PLY and others are possible.
