Leica ScanStation 2 is a 3D laser scanner from the company Leica Geosystems and operates using the time-of-flight measurement method. The ScanStation 2 can be used for scanning in all light conditions. The scanning system is suited for ranges of up to 300m (11811 in) (at 90% albedo) and has a maximum field of view of 360° in the horizontal plane and 270° in the vertical plane. Up to 50.000 points per second are captured during scanning. Leica ScanStation 2 is equipped with a dual-axis compensator and an integrated digital camera for colored scans. Due to QuickScan™, the scanning area can be defined quickly and easily. The operating is effected by means of a laptop or tablet PC.
