New updates: Geomagic Design X 2024.2 and Geomagic Control X 2024.2
In the dynamic world of 3D design and inspection software, Geomagic remains at the forefront with its latest releases: Geomagic Design X 2024.2 and Geomagic Control X 2024.2. Both products have been updated to meet the needs of modern engineers and designers, offering numerous improvements and new features. Here are the highlights of the new releases.
Geomagic Design X 2024.2
Improved precision when sewing and adjusting auto sketches
Enhancements have been made to the algorithm for connecting and sewing Line-Line and Line-Arc auto sketches, ensuring greateraccuracy in the precise alignment of sewing results. Now, sewing auto-sketches center the results between two connection points, prioritize initial fitting results, apply constraints, and prevent the insertion of new sketches.
Remove the small fillet in the auto sketch
In addition to Line-Line auto sketches, the application of the "Remove Small Fillet" option now includes fillets connected between Line-Arc or Arc-Arc auto sketches.
Reversed Solid Cut in Revolution Wizard
The new "Reverse" option in the Revolution Wizard allows you to invert the normal direction of the cutting body created from the selected regions. This feature facilitates cutting of an existing solid bdy to produce an inner or outer revolving solid body. This makes it easier to create solids with internal or external features.
UI/UX improvements
The user interface and user experience have been significantly improved to enable a more intuitive and efficient use of the software. This includes both visual and functional improvements that make it easier to interact with the software.
Improved functions for Design X Essentials
Design X Essentials has also been expanded:
- Triangulate: Enables triangulation of point cluds for further processing.
- Noise filter: Allows for removal of unwanted noise from point clouds.
- Sampling: Provides options for sampling pont clouds for optimization.
- Fill area: Enhances surface creationnby filling faces within specified boundaries.
- Delete surface: Allows for deletion of faces from solid or surface bodies.
- Merge/combine commands for point clouds: Improved functions for combining and merging point clouds for extended modeling capabilities.
Update to CLM 10.8
Geomagic Design X 2024.2 has been updated to the latest version of the CLM 10.8 licence management system for improved licence management and security.
Error corrections
Around 40 bug fixes have been implemented to further improve the stability and performance of the software.

Enhancements for replacing reference data
Geomagic Control X 2024.2 offers significant improvements when replacing reference data:
- Improved visualisation: The associated inspection features in the Model Manager Tree are now better visualised.
- Context menu enhancements: Replacing reference data is now possible directly in the context menu of the Model Manager Tree.
- Support for Boundary of Surface Entity Type: The "Replace Reference Data" command now supports the boundary of surface entity type.
UI/UX improvements
The user interface and user experience have been improved with the following new features:
- Customisable marking colours: Users can now customise the marking colours for manipulators and the selection tools according to their needs.
- Adjustable colour bar: An adjustable colour bar for previewing the fitting deviation of the reference geometry provides more precise control and better visualisation of the data.
