All functions of the FARO Leap ST hand-held scanner

The FARO Leap ST is a state-of-the-art, handheld 3D scanner that enables flexible and precise data capture at impressive speeds. With five different operating modes, the Leap ST can capture almost any surface or geometry. This makes it a versatile tool for a wide range of applications - from the precise capture of small details to the scanning of large objects.
TitleThe 5 scan modes of the FARO Leap ST
Ultra-fast scanning
This mode uses 34 laser lines to ensure fast and comprehensive detection. Ideal for small to medium sized parts, this mode offers fast feature detection and rapid coverage.
Hyperfine scanning
For complex geometries or areas that require high resolution, this mode is optimal. With seven parallel laser lines, even the finest details are captured at the highest resolution, making this mode particularly useful for detailed inspections.
Photogrammetry
While conventional photogrammetry requires additional equipment, the FARO Leap ST comes with everything you need. With scale bars and other helpful tools, this mode provides an easy way to accurately capture data through photo measurements.
Deep hole scanning
Difficult geometries in hard-to-reach areas can be precisely captured with a special laser line. This mode is perfect for inspecting holes and cavities that need to be inspected to their maximum depth.
Large area scanning
When it comes to larger objects, this mode with eleven parallel infrared laser lines offers the optimum solution. It is ideal for scanning large parts or for detecting coarse structures on medium-sized to large objects.
TitleThe software for the FARO Leap ST
The FARO Leap ST is supported by the powerful CAM2 software solution, which was specially developed for quality assurance and inspection tasks. CAM2 offers a modular software portfolio that is tailored to the different measurement requirements in manufacturing. This includes the CAM2 Scan Professional and Expert versions, which allow users to select their software according to their specific needs without having to invest in unnecessary additional functions.
