Scan shafts with a Focus3D

I want to scan shafts by means of a FARO Focus3D. Does the scanner take great images in the dark or do I need powerful additional lighting?
Can I activate the measurement with a remote control (the scanner is situated 3m in the duct)?

Scan ducts and shafts

Hello,

The laser scanner operates in the dark, too. This is a great advantage of the system.
The results of 3D scanning are laser scans in the form of a gray point cloud. Colored scans need additional light. In the case of colored scans, many images are automatically created by the scanner after laser scanning.
Afterwards, the software for analysis and interpretation colors the point cloud. Without additional light, the images would be underexposed. That's not adequate.

To sum up scanning a duct: point clouds in black and white are ok, colored scans need additional light.
