Webinar - Laserscanning and Plant modeling in Microstation

Learn how 3D Laser Scanning Helped Reduce Project Cycle Time on a Biodiesel Plant Design Project

Date: May 22, 2012 | 1:00-2:00 PM EDT

This webinar will provide insight into what was learned while designing what was at the time, the United States' largest biodiesel plant. It will show how Bentley's 3D modeling tools were seamlessly connected and enabled Process Automation Concepts to deliver all the 2D and 3D drawings from a single data source.
The design project, from vessel shop drawings to instrumentation loops, piping isometrics and location drawings, was completed in 16 weeks.
Stephen Dudzik, President of Process Automation Concepts, will discuss the following:

  • How PAC extended the frontiers of AutoPLANT customization to deliver an Integrated Plant Design-Virtual build for this bio-refinery plant.
  •  How PAC is altering the typical design process, using virtual tools and multiple firms to optimize the final product early in the conceptual design phase. This displaces the traditional thinking related to how a plant is designed, manufactured and erected.
  •  How 3D laser scanning and AutoPLANTcombined enabled PAC to design the smart model, saving up to 1/3 the cost and 1/2 the time of a typical project.
