Since 2012, the business area "Technical consulting" is firmly established in our product portfolio. With our service, we advise customers on issues concerning the purchase of the appropriate laser scanner and software as well as their optimum usage.

Among others, the plant of Mercedes Benz in Sindelfingen (Germany) made use of this service. The employees in the field of manufacturing equipment and tool making currently develop an automated measurement device on the basis of a laser scanner. The laser scanner which is directed by a robot shall check large cast parts as automatically as possible as a basis for tool making. For optimum usage of hardware and processing of scan data in software solutions from the company 3D Systems Geomagic, the advice of specialists was needed. Within two days of consulting, the possibilities for improving the accuracy and for fast and automated data processing have been analyzed. Now, the results have some influence in the further development and implementation of the plant.

In 2013, Volkswagen Ltd. in Brunswick (Germany) benchmarked for the acquisition of a software for the back transfer of surfaces of highly accurate optical scan data. The software recommended by us could come out on top in comparison to other software products and, now, it is purchased.

DeMicoli & Associates, the largest architectural office in Malta, contacted us already in 2012 in order to make familiar with laser scanner technology. After a few common pilot projects, the office of Ray DeMicoli, who has been voted to be one of the best hundred architects of the world, decided in favour of founding an own society for laser scanning. In November, the new company Capture 3D under the direction of Steve DeMicoli received a new laser scanner from us. For the analysis and interpretation of the data, the company relies on products of the software Rhino. These solutions are perfectly suited for planning and designing by use of freeform surfaces (NURBS surfaces). Now, the new company Capture 3D is the first professional provider of laser scanner technology in Malta.
