Geomagic announces the launch of the company's new game-changing scan-to-CAD software, Geomagic Spark, as well as the latest versions of its 3D modeling software Geomagic Freeform and 3D imaging/reverse engineering software Geomagic Studio.

Geomagic Spark

Geomagic Spark enters the market as the only 3D software that combines a live 3D scanning interface, robust 3D point and mesh editing capabilities, comprehensive modeling design, assembly modeling, and 2D drawing creation in one complete application. While traditional CAD packages have modeling capabilities, they lack the tools to process 3D scan data into usable 3D. Geomagic Spark, however, incorporates 3D scan data functionality, integrating Geomagic’s advanced scanning technology, 15 years in the making, with the robust, easy-to-use direct modeling capabilities of the SpaceClaim® platform. Now, users can create accurate, manufacturable solid models and assemblies using combined scan and CAD data in the same application within minutes, even with partial scan data.

Geomagic Freeform

Including subdivision modeling, Freeform 2013 is the only system that gives product designers the freedom and flexibility to combine four different modeling representations – voxels, NURBS, subdivision surfaces and polygons – in the same model. With Freeform 2013, designers can create highly differentiated products that can be produced in volume using traditional manufacturing processes or customised products that can be produced using newer additive manufacturing methods.

Geomagic Studio

Long recognised as the complete toolbox for transforming 3D scan data into highly accurate surface, mesh and native CAD formats, Geomagic Studio 2013 expands on its array of advanced functions and easy-to-learn interface. As a result, Geomagic continues to help designers and engineers of all types to realise their product visions.

The newest update of Geomagic Studio allows users to save time with an included command line-driven version of the software. In this version of Geomagic Studio, customers can create and execute macros and scripts without a graphical user interface, thus allowing commands to run faster and use less memory. In addition, Geomagic Studio 2013 incorporates a higher level of platform exposure, meaning users can write more custom functionality into the software.

The software will be available in January 2013.
