Leica HDS6100 is a phase-based 3D laser scanner from the company Leica Geosystems. The scanner allows scanning at a maximum range of 79m (3110 in) (at 90% albedo) and an excellent maximum field of view of 360° (horizontal) x 310° (vertical). The measuring speed of Leica HDS6100 amounts to 508.000 points/second. Due to the dual-axis tilt sensor and the accuracy of the scan results, target marks are not needed. In the case of this type, the laser beam is reflected by a vertically driven mirror on a horizontally rotating platform. Leica HDS6100 can be operated via an integrated touchpad with display, a laptop, a tablet PC or a smart phone/PDA. The internal lithium ion battery provides a duration of approx. 2.5 hours, the external battery provides a duration of approx. 4 hours.
