Hello Laserscanning Europe Road Racing friends,
Unfortunately, the weather isn't really ready for racing. However, our Laserscanning Europe Road Racing Team already had first official appointments laset weekend. Team leader Eric Bergholz and rider Christian "Schmiddel" Schmitz visited "Motorräder Dortmund" trade show to conclude last arrangements with partners and sponsors for IRRC season 2017.
Apart from visits at ALNE (manufacturer of leather suits) and Ortema's specialists for protectors, Eric and Christian had discussions with Racefoxx and the tire makers Michelin, Dunlop and Metzeler-Pirelli to take supporters in the field of accessories and tires on board. Indeed, the team is already optimally organized. Since road races in Czechia and a road race at the Ulster Grand Prix - beside the championships - are fixed in the calendar of events, every additional sponsor is welcome and ensures better chances of success. At Michelin, Christian Schmitz had the wonderful opportunity to sit on the world champions motorbike of Marc Marquez. Did this chance cause additional motivation?
The first roll-out takes place on 25 and 26 March at the Lausitzring. The aim is to run in the engines, which have been revised for season 2017, of both Yamaha R6 and to complete last tuning tasks. After a last test in 13 and 14 April in Mettet in Belgium, the team starts the road racing season with the opening race on 6 May in Hengelo.
