3D measurement of parts from vehicles for motorsport with the Artec Eva

Dear Laser Scanning Community,

Last week, we once again made our passion our profession and covered a topic related to motor racing. A customer of ours works in the development of motor racing parts for top teams competing in long-distance and rally racing, as well as for demanding private drivers from the Cup and Trackday series.

This customer is looking for a versatile measuring system to record vehicle geometries on a mobile basis at their customers' sites. This involves above all recording the body for the engineering of external carbon parts as well as checking the installation space for safety roll cages.

With the Artec Eva, we presented a good scanner that matches the profile of requirements. It goes without saying that the customer had the possibility to test the scanner right away in practice. The system is so flexible that it was possible to carry out the test directly in front of our offices during a spell of lovely weather.

It is highly likely that the customer will deploy the scanner in the near future.
